Eligibility requirements for the Neo products

Neo's products are available to anyone in Canada (including Quebec) who has a valid ID and is the age of majority in their province. The only product that's not available in Quebec is the Cathay World Elite® Mastercard.

Some of Neo's products are also available for youth! If you're between the ages of 13 and 17 years old, then you can apply for the JA Money card. You can also get a Neo Savings account if you're at least 13 years old (14 years old if you live in Quebec).

Credit cards

To apply for a credit card, you have to be the age of majority in your province.

Accounts for youth

Youth can apply for the JA Money card (which comes with the Everyday account) or Neo Savings account.

You have to be between the ages of 13 and 17 years old to apply for the JA Money card. For the Neo Savings account, you have to be at least 13 years old (14 years old if you live in Quebec). 

Identification requirements

To help protect your account, you may be asked to take a picture of a valid Canadian ID document or international passport. Here are the forms of ID that we accept

Social insurance number

If you're opening an account that pays you interest (like the Neo Everyday account or a Neo Invest account), you'll need to provide your social security number (SIN). We use your SIN to report any earnings to the CRA. 

Income requirements

Some credit cards (such as the Neo World Elite® Mastercard and Neo World Mastercard®) require you to have a minimum personal or household income. Check the product details when you're applying for the income requirements.
