When to expect a refund

  • Updated

The time it takes to get a refund depends on the merchant and how you returned the purchase (such as in-store or by mail). Most refunds take around 10 business days to be posted to your account.

Refund processing time

Typically, refunds are posted to your account around 10 business days after the merchant has processed the refund. Check the merchant’s return policy for their expected processing time. Some refunds may not be posted for up to 30 days.

If you’re not sure about the expected refund processing time, reach out to the merchant to find out more!

Returns by mail for online purchases usually take longer than in-store returns.

Refund for a cancelled subscription

The processing time for a refund for a cancelled subscription depends on when your subscription ended. Refunds for subscriptions are typically posted 14 days after the subscription is cancelled. Reach out to the merchant to know exactly when to expect your refund.

Didn’t receive a refund?

Refunds are posted after the merchant processes the refund, so the timeline depends on the merchant.

Wait 30 days and contact the merchant

Depending on when the merchant processes the refund, it could take up to 30 days for the refund to be posted.

Reach out to the merchant to confirm the refund and get an updated timeline.

Dispute the refund

If you've contacted the merchant and haven't received your refund in over 30 days, you can dispute the transaction. You may be asked to provide documentation, such as a confirmation of the refund from the merchant.

Disputing a transaction doesn’t ensure a refund. Our team will review your dispute claim and keep you updated.
