Moving funds from linked bank accounts usually takes 5 business days to be processed, but you’ll start accruing interest as soon as you initiate the transfer into interest-earning accounts (like the Neo High-Interest Savings account).
What to expect after you move funds
When you move funds from a linked account, your account balance updates instantly. You'll see the outgoing Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) transaction in your transaction history. However, an incoming EFT transaction may not appear immediately in your Neo Money accounts (including Neo Everyday account or Neo HISA).
Pending Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from a linked account
Pending an EFT transaction from a linked account to your Neo Money accounts (including the Neo Everyday account and Neo HISA) can take up to 5 business days for most transactions and 8 business days for large transactions. You can’t use the funds until the transaction is posted to your account. Neo can’t expedite the pending transfer processing time.
Earning interest on your EFT
You'll start earning interest on the transferred EFT immediately after you begin the transfer from your linked account.
Security of linked accounts
Neo uses secure technology to connect with external bank accounts. When you initiate a transfer between Neo and a linked bank, the funds are transferred as an electronic funds transfer (EFT) payment.
Transfer limits from linked account
After you link a bank to your Neo account, you can add or withdraw up to $100,000 in one transfer.
Processing times and interest
Money is transferred as an electronic funds transfer (EFT) payment, so the funds will take a few days to be processed. If you’re moving money into interest-earning accounts, you’ll start accruing interest right away!
Pending Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from an external bank
Transfers between Neo and external bank accounts usually take up to 5 business days to be processed. Large transfers can take up to 8 business days to be processed.
If you are transferring funds into Neo Money™ accounts (Neo Everyday and Neo High-Interest Savings accounts), you’ll have to wait until the transfer is processed before you can spend with those funds.
Need your funds available immediately? Send yourself an Interac e-Transfer® quickly to move money from an external account to Neo.
Interest is accrued immediately
You’ll start accruing interest immediately when you deposit funds into accounts that earn interest. Even if the funds need to be processed, interest is accrued from the moment the transfer is initiated.
Automate transfers from linked accounts
Set up Auto-Save to automatically move money from an external bank account to your Neo Money accounts (including Neo Everyday account and Neo High-Interest Savings account). Choose the amount and frequency to put your savings on autopilot.
