Apply for a credit card

You can apply online for a credit card from Neo. You’ll be asked to provide some personal details and verify your identity, if you don’t already have a Neo product. Most credit card applications will be processed instantly, but some applications can take up to 48 hours.

1. Go to the Neo app and tap Sign up to create your Neo account
2. In the Accounts tab, select Credit
3. Tap on Choose your card to start your application

Things you need to apply for a credit card

To apply for a credit card from Neo, you just need three things:

1. Email address
2. Mobile phone number
3. Valid photo ID to verify your identity

Learn more about valid ID types that can be used to verify your identity. You will also need to provide some personal details and financial information when you apply.

Credit checks during the application

A credit check is required to apply for a standard credit card. Neo will use information from credit bureaus to verify your identity and confirm the credit cards that you’re eligible for. 

If you don’t want a hard credit check, you can choose a secured credit card when applying. Learn more about how secured credit cards work. 

Can’t create a Neo account?

You can’t create a Neo account with an email address or mobile phone number that is associated with another Neo account. Log in to your existing Neo account to get a credit card. Contact us at 1 (855) 636-2265 if you can’t log in to your account.

Reopen a closed credit account

Closed credit accounts can’t be reopened, but you can apply for a new credit card. Log in to your Neo account to apply for a new credit card. 

Get multiple credit cards

You can apply for multiple credit cards from Neo to get access to multiple rewards programs. To add a credit card, go to your Credit account and select Add account.

Here’s what you need to be eligible to apply for another credit card from Neo:

• Don’t have a declined credit card application in the last 30 days
• Have an existing account that is in good standing
• Must wait 90 days after your last completed and approved credit application

Your credit account is in good standing if you have never missed a minimum payment and payments have been posted to your credit account on or before the payment due date.

You can only have one Hudson's Bay Mastercard and one Cathay World Elite® Mastercard, but you can have multiple Neo Credit cards.

Change your credit card

The easiest way to change your credit card to a different type is to apply for another credit card. You can manage multiple credit cards with Neo, including cards with different rewards. To add a credit card, go to your Credit account and select Add account.

If you want to change your credit card, you can instead apply for another credit card!

If you have Neo Credit card or Hudson’s Bay Mastercard, you have the flexibility to switch between the two credit cards every 6 months without submitting a new credit card application.

Chat with us to request to ‌switch your credit card (between Neo Credit card and Hudson’s Bay Mastercard). If your request is approved, you’ll be issued your new physical credit card on the next statement. 

You can’t request ‌to change your credit card if you changed your credit card in the past 6 months.

Change your secured credit card to a standard card

To switch from a secured credit card to a standard credit card, all you need to do is apply for a new standard credit card. Neo will send an email when you're eligible for a standard credit card.

It's important to note that applying for a new standard credit card will require a credit check. If you're approved for a standard credit card, you can then choose to close your secured credit card and withdraw the security funds.
