You never lose features, you only gain more. Each membership includes everything from the previous one, adding more tools and convenience for you.
Build membership
The Build membership is made for anyone who wants to create or strengthen their credit history. Build gives you access to smart credit tools that make it easier to take control of your credit, track your progress, and set yourself up for long-term financial success.
If you’re just getting started or rebuilding your credit, Build gives you the foundation you need to move forward confidently.
Features of Build
Credit builder tool – Know how to build your credit history and become eligible for higher limits
Credit score monitoring – Track your credit score anytime and get personalized insights to help you build your credit score over time
Secured credit limit – Memberships let you add security funds to determine your credit limit and start building your credit history with no additional fees
ATM fee reimbursement – We'll cover fees up to $5 each time you withdraw cash with a Neo Money card at any ATM in Canada. Learn more about the ATM fee reimbursement feature.
Grow membership
The Grow membership is designed for those who want to make their money work smarter. It gives you better rates, more rewards, and added convenience, helping you maximize returns while keeping full control of your finances.
Features of Grow
Everything in Build, plus:
Neo Savings rate: Earn a higher rate on your deposits and grow your balance faster.
Foreign transaction fee reimbursement (coming soon!) – Get transaction fees rebated whenever you spend abroad, in any foreign currency, online or in person.
Priority phone support – Jump to the front of the line with priority access to a Specialist.
Note: Both Build and Grow memberships include access to the secured credit limit feature, which lets you use security funds with a credit card.
If you already have a secured credit card, you can either continue paying the $5 secured fee or upgrade to Build or Grow and get even more credit features. By getting a membership, you won’t have to pay the additional $5 secured fee anymore, just the membership fee.
Stay tuned for new membership launches coming soon, with even more rewarding features to help you make the most of your Neo experience.
How payments for memberships work
Memberships are charged monthly, depending on whether you have a standard subscription, a free trial, or a membership for $0.
You’ll always be charged using your chosen payment method, which can be any of your Neo accounts (Neo Everyday, Neo Savings, or Neo High-Interest Savings) or a Neo credit card. You can update your payment method at any time.
All memberships renew automatically on the 1st of each month.
Standard subscription
You’ll be charged a prorated amount for the remaining days of the month when you subscribe. After that, you’ll be charged the full membership fee on the first of each month at renewal.
Membership for $0
If you’re getting a membership for $0 when you subscribe, you won’t be charged. Keep tracking your account to ensure your membership continues at no cost in the following months.
Free trial
During a free trial, you don’t pay anything when you subscribe. Once the trial ends, your membership will renew automatically, and a prorated amount for the remaining days of the month will be charged.
Downgrading your membership
You can downgrade your membership at any time. How and when the downgrade takes effect depends on your situation if you’re on a standard subscription or on a free trial.
Standard subscription: The downgrade will take effect on the first day of the next month. You’ll be charged the full monthly fee for the new membership.
During a free trial: The downgrade happens immediately. You’ll be charged a prorated fee for the remaining days of the month.
Note: If you currently have an active credit card with the secured credit limit feature and want to downgrade to Essentials, you’ll need to close your account first. Essentials doesn't include access to security funds.
How to get a membership for $0
There are a few ways to get a membership and enjoy all the features at no cost. Go to your Neo app to see which options are available to you.
Ways to get a membership at no cost
Get a Neo World Elite® Mastercard
Simply having the card gives you access to any membership at no cost. If you already have the Neo World Elite® Mastercard, you still need to subscribe to the membership you want. You won’t be automatically subscribed.
Maintain a total balance in your Neo accounts
Your membership can also be at no cost by keeping a certain total balance in your Neo accounts:
Build: Keep $5,000 across your Neo Everyday, Neo Savings, or Neo High-Interest Savings accounts.
Grow: Keep $20,000 across your Neo Everyday, Neo Savings, or Neo High-Interest Savings accounts.
Once you reach the required balance, you still need to subscribe to the membership you want. You won’t be automatically subscribed.
Keep the minimum balance each month to maintain your membership at no cost. We check your balances on the last day of the month. If your balances meet the required amount, your membership will automatically renew at no cost on the first day of the next month.
