Why is Tim Hortons no longer offering the Tims Mastercard?

Tim Hortons has made the decision to no longer offer the Tims Mastercard. The Tims Mastercard program is ending October 1, 2026. You may receive an email outlining changes and next steps about your account.

When does the Tims Mastercard program end?

The Tims Mastercard program ends October 1, 2026. After this date, access to Tims Financial on the Tim Hortons app—and online account access—will end.

What will happen to my Tims Rewards Points when the Tims Mastercard program ends?

Your Tims Rewards Points are still yours to use—they’re added to your Tims Rewards account as soon as you earn them. Your card will stop earning Tims Rewards Points when the program ends on October 1, 2026. Any pending transactions that have not yet posted will not earn Tims Rewards Points. You will still be able to redeem your existing points in the Tims app, even after October 1.

Please note: All Tims Rewards Points expire 12 months from the month in which you earned them.

Should I keep paying my bill as usual now that the Tims Mastercard program is ending?

Yes, you remain responsible for making at least the minimum payment by the due date. Late or missed payments may result in fees and could be reported to credit bureaus. If you close your Tims Mastercard account, any outstanding balance remains payable until fully repaid, and you must continue making payments by the due date.

Will pending transactions go through now that the Tims Mastercard program is ending?

Any purchases, refunds, or pending charges will be processed normally during this time.

What if my account is past due when the Tims Mastercard program ends?

Please continue making payments as normal. Your account status will carry over. You remain responsible for making at least the minimum payment by the due date. Late or missed payments may result in fees and could be reported to credit bureaus.
