When you make a purchase in a foreign currency with a Neo card, a foreign exchange fee is added to the transaction. With the Grow membership, Neo reimburses up to 3% of the transaction amount in foreign exchange fees—so most purchases are fully covered.
Note: To unlock the foreign fee reimbursement feature, you need to be subscribed to the Grow membership.
How foreign fee reimbursement works
When you use a Neo Money card, Neo Mastercard, Neo World Mastercard®, Neo World Elite® Mastercard, Cathay World Elite® Mastercard, or United® MileagePlus® Neo World Elite® Mastercard to make a purchase in a foreign currency, the foreign fee is charged as part of the transaction. As a Grow member, that fee is reimbursed automatically.
Credit cards
The reimbursement is applied automatically once your transaction posts. It appears as a separate credit in your credit account’s transaction history.
Neo Money card
For purchases made with your Neo Money card, foreign fee reimbursements are processed monthly. At the end of each month, all eligible foreign fees are added up and deposited as a single amount into your Neo Everyday or Neo Chequing account.
