Your credit limit is the maximum amount you can borrow on your Neo credit card.
When you apply for a Neo credit card, we’ll let you know the credit limit you’re eligible for. Over time, your credit limit may change based on how your account is used and reviewed. We'll let you know when you're eligible for a higher credit limit.
You can view your current credit limit in the Neo app or website. Go to your credit account details for your current credit limit.
Increasing your credit limit
Credit cards with standard credit
Neo regularly reviews accounts and will let you know by email if you’re eligible for a higher credit limit.
You can also request a credit limit increase. If you’re not eligible at the time of your request, we’ll continue to review your account and notify you if that changes.
Credit cards with secured credit
If you have a credit card with secured credit, your credit limit is based on the amount you’ve added to your security fund.
You can increase your credit limit by adding more money to the security fund.
Decreasing your credit limit
At this time, you can’t request a lower credit limit or lower it yourself.
In some cases, Neo may automatically reduce a credit limit as part of regular account reviews.
Why Neo might lower your credit limit
Neo may adjust your credit limit automatically if, for example:
You don’t pay your bills on time
You use less credit than you need
You don’t use your card often
These reviews help keep accounts secure and ensure credit limits remain appropriate over time.
What happens if your credit limit is reduced by Neo
If Neo reduces your credit limit, the change may be temporary or permanent. We’ll notify you if your credit limit has changed.
Temporary reduction: In some cases, the change may be temporary and your account will show that it’s restricted. If action is needed, we’ll email you with details. You may be able to remove the restriction by making a payment or providing additional information.
Permanent reduction: In other cases, the change may be permanent, such as when an account has been inactive for a long time. These changes don’t require follow-up and may not appear as a restriction in the app.
Credit limit for secured credit cards
The credit limit for secured credit cards is equal to the amount of money in the security fund. You can add more money to the security fund to increase the credit limit of a secured credit card, but you can only withdraw money from the security fund if you close your credit account.
If you're transferring funds from another bank, allow a few business days for the transfer to be completed and applied to your account. After your transfer is fully processed, the increase to your credit limit will take effect.
