You can change your Neo credit card directly in the app. Depending on what you're changing, you may receive a new physical card or keep your current one.
If you'd prefer a completely separate credit account, you can also apply for a new card — this requires a credit check and gives you a separate credit limit.
If you want to go from a secured credit card to a standard credit card, you’ll need to apply for a standard credit card.

What you can change
Change your cashback categories
If your current card doesn't match how you spend, you can change to a different Neo credit card with different rewards. For example, moving from a Neo World Mastercard® – Gas & Grocery to a Neo World Mastercard® – Everywhere. The default category for all cards is Gas & Grocery.
Changing your cashback categories is available for the Neo World Mastercard® and Neo World Elite® Mastercard. No credit check is required. You can choose between:
Gas & Grocery cards – higher cashback on fuel, grocery, and recurring purchases
Shop & Dine cards – higher cashback on shopping, food, and drink purchases
Everywhere – fixed cashback across all purchases, no matter where you shop
What happens when you change your cashback categories
Your cashback rates update immediately
Your physical card stays the same — no new card is issued
Your card number, credit limit, and account history all carry over
The change is instant and final — your previous rates can't be restored
Note: If you boost your cashback by depositing more in a Neo Everyday or Neo Chequing account, then you'll get the boosts on top of the cashback rates for the Gas & Grocery and Shop & Dine cards.
What happens if you have multiple cards of the same type
If you have more than 1 Neo World Mastercard or Neo World Elite® Mastercard, then changing the cashback categories will effect all cards of the same type.
For example, if you change 1 Neo World Mastercard to Shop & Dine, then both of your cards will be Shop & Dine.
Change to a Neo World Mastercard® or Neo World Elite® Mastercard
If you're eligible, you can change from a Neo Mastercard to a Neo World Mastercard®, or from a Neo World Mastercard® to a Neo World Elite® Mastercard.
This gives you access to better cashback rates, more cashback categories to choose from, and additional benefits like insurance coverage or airport lounge access.
A credit check is required and you'll need to meet the income and eligibility requirements for the card you're changing to.
What happens when you change to a Neo World Mastercard® or Neo World Elite® Mastercard
A new physical card is issued — you'll receive a new card with a new card number
A credit check is required and may temporarily affect your credit score
You choose your cashback categories as part of the change (Gas & Grocery, Shop & Dine, or Everywhere)
Your account history and credit limit carry over
An annual fee may apply, depending on the card
You choose when the change takes effect: immediately (old card deactivated, virtual card issued right away) or when your new physical card arrives
The change is final. Once confirmed, your previous card can't be restored.
Change a secured credit card to a standard credit card
If you're eligible to move from a secured credit card to a standard one, Neo will let you know by email. To make the change, you'll need to apply for a new standard credit card — a credit check is required.
If you're approved, you can choose to keep both cards open or close your secured card and withdraw your security deposit.
Eligibility to change your Neo credit card
To change your Neo credit card, you'll need to meet the eligibility requirements for the card you're changing to. These may include:
Being the age of majority in your province
The card being available in your province
Meeting any income requirements for the card
We'll let you know if any additional information is needed when you start the change.
Applying for a new card
If you'd prefer to keep your current card and add a new one, you can apply for a separate credit account. This is a new application — a credit check is required, and your new card will have its own credit limit.
What to know when changing your Neo credit card
Rewards you've already earned is yours. Your Rewards Wallet balance carries over regardless of the change.
Additional cardholders follow your change. If you have additional cardholders on your card, their card updates to match yours automatically — including receiving a new card if one is issued.
The change is final. Once confirmed, your previous card configuration can't be restored.
