Note: Neo Advance is gradually rolling out to members, so it may not be available to you yet. Update your Neo app or log in on the web to see if you have access.
The Neo Chequing account is the next evolution of Neo Everyday. It's the same account, with more features coming over time.
You can easily upgrade your Neo Everyday account anytime to Neo Chequing. Your account will carry over, and you’ll keep all Neo Everyday’s features and benefits.
We'll be adding more features to Neo Chequing over time.
How to upgrade to Neo Chequing
Go to your Neo Everyday account to upgrade to Neo Chequing. You’ll see a tile about upgrading your account.
During the upgrade, your account will be temporarily restricted. You won't be able to add, withdraw, or receive funds until it's complete. This typically takes only a second or two.
What carries over
The following transfers automatically when you upgrade:
Your balance: Includes any interest that has accrued up to the moment of the upgrade.
Your account number (account number, transit number, institution number): Your direct deposits and pre-authorized debits will continue to work without any changes on your end.
Your Neo Money card: Same card, same card number. No need to order a new one or update payment information where your card is saved.
Your automations: Auto-Save, Auto-Refill, scheduled bill payments, scheduled Interac e-Transfer payments, Auto-Invest, and Auto-Pay for your Neo credit card all carry over.
Your membership subscription: Your current membership remains active.
What you need to update
After the upgrade, you’ll need to re-confirm your registration for Interac Autodeposit (if it was set up for your Neo Everyday account). You'll receive an email with a link to re-register.
Issues upgrading to Neo Chequing
If you’re unable to start the upgrade, one of the following issues may be blocking your upgrade to Neo Chequing. Here are the potential reasons:
Negative balance: Your account needs to be at $0 or above before the upgrade can begin. A negative balance usually means a recent transaction or fee wasn't covered.
Pending Interac e-Transfer®: Any outgoing Interac e-Transfer® that hasn't been deposited yet needs to be cancelled before you can upgrade.
Pending transaction: If a recent transaction hasn't fully settled yet, the upgrade can't begin. This includes purchases, refunds, or transfers that are still processing.
Account is locked: If your account has been locked, you'll need to resolve that before you can upgrade. Contact us to help you.
Balance over $100,000: Accounts with a balance above $100,000 require a manual upgrade handled by our team. Contact us for help with upgrading your account.
After you upgrade to Neo Chequing
Re-confirm your Interac Autodeposit
If Interac Autodeposit was set up with your Neo Everyday account, check your email for a re-confirmation message from Interac. Follow the link to re-register your Autodeposit with your Neo Chequing account. Until you do, incoming Interac e-Transfer® payments will need to be accepted manually.

If there are any issues with your upgrade, you’ll see a message after you upgrade.
Automations: Set them up again in your Neo Chequing account settings.
Neo Money card: Order a replacement card from the app.
