Deposit your CRA payments into your Neo account

Set up your automated CRA direct deposit to receive government payments to your Neo account.

Get your eligible payments from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) deposited into your Neo account. You can quickly set up CRA direct deposit directly in the Neo app or website. This one-click setup lets you choose an eligible Neo account and securely send your details to the CRA—without leaving Neo.

Once completed, eligible CRA payments will be deposited straight into your Neo account.

Who can use this feature

To automatically set up CRA direct deposit with Neo, you must:

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)

  • Have filed at least one income tax return in the past

  • Have had an active Neo account for at least 1 month

  • Have a Neo Everyday or Neo Savings account

    • This feature isn’t available for Neo High-Interest Savings accounts

CRA payments you can receive by direct deposit

You can receive eligible payments and refunds from the CRA directly into your Neo account, including:

  • Income tax refunds

  • Canada Child Benefit

  • GST/HST credits

  • Canada Workers Benefit

How to set up CRA direct deposit in Neo

Go to your profile settings in the Neo app or website to set up a CRA direct deposit. Neo will then submit your information to the CRA.

Neo app

  1. Log in to the Neo app

  2. Tap the Profile icon (top right corner)

  3. Select CRA direct deposit

  4. Select the account you want to receive payments from the CRA

Web

  1. Log in to member.neofinancial.com

  2. Click the Profile icon (top right corner)

  3. Select CRA direct deposit

  4. Select the account you want to receive payments from the CRA

After your info is sent to the CRA

It usually takes 1 to 2 business days for the CRA to update your direct deposit information.

The CRA will email you when your direct deposit information is updated. You can confirm your direct deposit information by:

After you submit your information, you won’t be able to cancel your request to update your direct deposit information with the CRA. You’ll need to log in to your CRA account to update your direct deposit information or contact the CRA. If you want to set up your CRA direct deposit with a different Neo account, you can set up your CRA direct deposit again 2 days after you last set it up through Neo.
