Cancel an Interac e-Transfer®

If you’ve made a mistake or changed your mind, you can cancel a pending Interac e-Transfer before the recipient accepts it. However, if the recipient is registered for Autodeposit, you won’t be able to cancel the request.

Deposited Interac e-Transfer® 

In case the Interac e-Transfer® was deposited, the issue will have to be resolved with the recipient as the Interac e-Transfer® can’t be cancelled anymore.

Cancel a pending Interac e-Transfer®

You can cancel an Interac e-Transfer® from the Neo app or website. 

Neo app

  1. Log in to the Neo app
  2. Tap Payments
  3. Under In Progress, select your transfer and tap Cancel

Web

  1. Log in to member.neofinancial.com
  2. Click on Payment from the left-side menu
  3. Under Pending, select your transfer and click on Cancel

Can’t cancel an Interac e-Transfer?

If you can’t cancel an Interac e-Transfer and the request is showing as pending, here are a few possible reasons why:

Deposit underway

If the recipient’s bank has accepted the Interac e-Transfer, you can’t cancel the request.

Interac e-Transfer on hold

If an Interac e-Transfer is on hold due to additional security review or other issues, your e-Transfer status may show as pending. You won’t be able to cancel the request.
