Verify your identity over a video call

When you apply for a new financial product from Neo, we may ask you to verify your identity. 

If you live in Quebec, you can choose to verify your identity in one of two ways:

  • Upload a picture of your photo ID and a picture of yourself 
  • Over a video call

It is faster to verify your identity by uploading a picture of yourself and your photo ID.

Verification over a video call is only available if you live in Quebec.

How to verify your identity over a video call

For your security, we may need to verify your identity when you apply for a new product. You’ll be asked during the application how you want to verify your identity (if you live in Quebec). 

If you choose to verify your identity over a video call, you’ll be asked to provide some documents and participate in an online video call. Your application will be paused and we’ll send an email with more information on how to submit documents and schedule a video call.

To verify your name and address, one of the following is required:

  • Bank statement
  • Utility bill
  • Provincially issued vehicle registration
  • Record of employment
  • School transcript

To verify your name and date of birth, one of the following is required:

  • Canadian birth certificate
  • Canadian citizenship certificate
